My name is　Ai. I belong to the College of Agricultural Resource Science. I study mainly chemistry and biology. In the future, I want to be a researcher to settle environmental problems.  I'm interested in microorganisms in particular. They have various faculties that can be made good use for human living. I want to discover new microorganism and its faculty.

My home town is Konosu, Saitama. Konosu is a city near Kumagaya city. Do you know Kumagaya? Kumagaya is the hottest town in Japan. In summer 2007, the temperature reached to 40.7℃. As there is so hot, shaved-ice called "Yuki-Kuma" is popular. Kounosu means the nest of stork. The legend of stork is handed down. The special product of Konosu is Hina-Dall. There is a the highest Hina-Dan. Please come to see No.1 Hina-Dan at Hina-festival.

My hobbies are sports and reading. I like volleyball very much. I have continued volleyball for four years. I play volleyball three times a week. My position is libero. I want to be a good receiver.

  I have studied English for eight years. I can almost read and understand English, but I'm not good at writing and speaking.  I have never gone to foreign country. If  I become a good English speaker, I want to go many countries and make foreign friends. For realize my hope, I'm going to study English everyday.

About Me by Miho.H

My name is Miho Hatanaka. This means in English "a beautiful sail in
farm". I like this name very much. I'm from Nagano Pre. In this season,
Nagano has much snow. Tsukuba is warm and less snow so I like Tsukuba.
I'm not good at writing English. When I was high school student, I
always slept in class because class was not interesting. The grammar of
my English is a mess (for example I say "I was… I go school," so I want
to acquire the skill of writing correct English in this academic writing
class. But I like to speak English. I have some friends of G30. I like
English as a whole. By the way, I have third grade of Eiken(Test in
Practical English Proficiency).
I join a birdman circle. First, I explain about birdman. There is TV
show "The Birdman Rally" of Yomiuri TV. This is the race of man-powered
airplane. Birdman means "man who aims to fly by man power and makes
airplane". My circle member aims to join the race and have made new
airplane. I'm in charge of computer to steer an airplane and create some
programs. A task is far from my collage(biology), but very interesting.

My name is Taisei , I would like to introduce myself.

My name is Taisei.  My speciality is informatics.  I'm from Nagoya in Japan.  Nagoya is a town which has a peculiar culture and is very easy to live. I am aiding a baseball team called Chunichi Dragons which makes Nagoya headquarters.  I like baseball, and I enjoy playing baseball sometimes.  My favorite player is Araki. He is a very acrobatic player.
My hobby is running, so I belong to the track and field club. I am often running near University of Tsukuba on the holiday.  And I like reading books. So I think that I would like to find a job at a publication-related company in the future.  I read one book in two days.  My favorite writer is Ryoutarou Shiba,Hiro Arikawa, Koutarou Isaka and Takashi Kaidou.  Ryotarou Shiba is most favorite writer and I regard him as the best history writer in Japan.  My favorite music is Japanese rock and pop music.  For example, Mr'children, ELLEGARDEN, and BUMP OF CHICKEN.  Mr'children's music is favorite from the time of 12 years old, and I often listen it.

Hello, my name is Reona Sunasaka.  Let me introduce myself. One of my favorite things is to go abroad and see many new things. English is a good tool to communicate with people while visiting foreign countries. I don't think English is difficult compared to Japanese but I still have a lot to improve. I have homestayed three times now. The latest one was for three weeks. I also commuted to the local university during my stay.

I try to learn English everyday by listening music or watching YouTube video. I started listening to music sang with English when I was a high school student. My favorite singer is Taylor Swift. Her songs are beautiful and also her pronunciation is easy to understand. What is interesting about listening to English songs is that I am only able to hear the words which I know. So if I study new words and improve my vocabulary skill, I find I can understand lyrics much better.

I sometimes try to read English books, too. Now I read Harry Potter in English. That is a very good idea because I really love this series and I read it in Japanese many times. So I can transfer the text instantly into Japanese in my head. I think this will help improving my vocabulary a lot.

My name is Midori. I major in Bio Resource Science. I am going to study agriculture after second year. I am a second year undergraduate and 20 years old. I want to be a government official in the future and will work for those who is engaging in agriculture, forestry and the marine products industries like farmers, fishers and so on. My hobby is reading books. I always read books by Japanese writers, but I love Harry Potter and Agatha Christies’s Poirot. My favorite genre of novels is detective novels, mysteries and serious literature. 

 

From 1 years old to three years old, I lived in Australia, but I couldn’t speak English because I went to a kindergarten for Japanese in Australia. Now I would like to go abroad to study.

Hi, my name is Moe Haneda.

I'm interested in environmental problems, food, plants and agriculture, so I entered The College of Agrobiological Resource Science (Seibutsusigen). To understand these more, I want to study chemistry and biology harder. I want to understand writing in English. I think it is useful for study or work in the future.

I belong to the Japanese flower arrangement club. Japanese flower arrangement is difficult for me because I can't image the completed version. I am happy to see other club member's works and I like flowers.

I'm like to read books. I read many kinds of books. Today, I like to read essays especially. When I read essays, I realize many aspects of daily life, and I want to enjoy our daily life.

I like to watch sports programs on TV. I hate to watch martial arts programs. I think it is cruel and primitive. I usually watch high school baseball, figure skate, volley ball and so on.

My name is Aya. Let me tell

you about myself. I am studying nursing. I am interested in health and
disease.

Now, I want to be a school nurse keeping alive this knowledge. I like
children and I

volunteer in the children's hall twice a week. There are about 100
elementary

school students. First, I cannot input their names, but now I know all
of the

students names and character. I enjoyed this time to communicate them.


My hobbies are playing the piano and swimming. I have played piano for
16 years , and

swimming too. I like both very much.


I am from Kumamoto, and live in the center of it. It has many delicious
foods. For

example, Basashi which is horse meet, Ikinaridango which is Japanese
sweets made

of sweet potato and red bean paste , and Karashirenkon which is lotus
root covered in

karashi. They are very delicious local foods.


I visited Guam during the autumn vacation for 5 days with my friends. I
tried

parasailing! I was surprised in this experience. I tried snorkel too. We
could see a lot

of fish in the sea. They are very colorful and had unique shapes.

My name is Kana Aikou. I will be your student this term. Let me tell
you about myself.

I am majoring in nursing, and I am in 2nd year now. I'm from Kumamoto
which is located in

the center of Kyushu. My hometown is a warm place, so I want to go
back to Kumamoto.

Tsukuba is too cold for me. I live in an apartment in Amakubo with a
hamster. His

name is Azuki, he is very cute.


I belong to the Tsukuba Field Hockey Club. This spring, I joined the
club as a manager. I

have many tasks as a manager and it is so hard because the manager of
the club is only me.

However, it is very rewarding. Members always help me. My goal is to
increase the

members, so I want many people to know about field hockey.


In this summer, I stayed in Singapore to study English for a month. I
went to a language

school there and made many friends. I'm not good at English, but I
could have a good

experience talk with people from all over the world.

During my stay in Singapore, I went to Malaysia for a trip and did my
first sea bathing. The

sea was very clean.

My name is Keiko. I will be your student this term. Let me tell you
about myself.
I am a third grades nursing major. Until last year, I studied nursing
for three years at a vocational school of nursing in Toyama Prefecture.
In this spring, I transferred to The University of Tsukuba as a junior
to study to become a school nurse or a public health nurse. So this year
is the first year for me as a university student.

I like sports. I especially like badminton, so I joined a badminton club.
I enjoy playing it 3 or 4 days a week. I made many friends through
badminton in Tsukuba and I enjoy campus life with these friends.

My weak points are dealing with machines and using English. I cannot use
machines well, for example, computers and smart phones. I am not good at
English, but it is not that I don't like English. I think that the weak
point in my English is poor experience using it. I know that I should
use computers, smart phones and English when I became a working member
of society. So I want to learn how to use a computer and have a good
command of English during the campus life.

Thus, I want to enjoy the campus life and approach my aim of the future
here.

My name is Manami. I will be your student this term. Let me tell you about myself.

 

I began to study English from junior high school.  I got Eiken pre-2 when I was a high school student. I studied English in junior high school and high school, but I am weak in English.

 

I am from Saitama and live there now. So I go to university by train every day. It is hard to go to the university because I must get up early. So I am very sleepy every day.

 

My hobby is watching movies. I like horror movies and action movies in particular.  I don’t go to a movie theater much because the price of tickets is expensive.　So I go to TSUTAYA to borrow a DVD. I usually watch a movie with my father. My father likes watching movies too. However, he doesn't like animated films. That is why I can't watch Ghibli movies in my house. When a Ghibli movie is broadcasted on TV, I cannot watch it.  I do not have time to watch movies because I am busy. I must do homework and reports every day. So I want to watch lot of movies for winter vacation.
